As the virus spread and its devastating impact became clear, particularly during the critical second wave, we quickly pivoted our operations to provide immediate and essential relief to our neighbours right here in Hindmotor, Konnagar and Uttarpara area.

Sanitisation Drives: Battling the Invisible Threat

Recognizing the critical role of hygiene in curbing the virus’s spread, our dedicated teams launched extensive sanitisation drives across densely populated neighbourhoods, local markets, public spaces and bus stops. Equipped with protective gear and disinfectants, our volunteers tirelessly worked to deep-clean and sanitize public areas, leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to create safer environments. We understood that while masks and social distancing were crucial, ensuring a clean public realm was equally vital for the health and peace of mind of our residents. These drives were accompanied by on-ground awareness campaigns, educating people on proper hand washing techniques and the importance of maintaining hygiene in daily life.

Oxygen Supply: A Lifeline in Desperate Times

The second wave of COVID-19 presented a terrifying reality: a severe shortage of medical oxygen that threatened countless lives. Hospitals were overwhelmed, and many families were left frantically searching for oxygen cylinders for their loved ones. Witnessing this dire need in our own backyard, Hindmotor Sankolpo sprang into action.

We rapidly established an Oxygen Support Initiative, securing and distributing oxygen cylinders and concentrators to individuals in home isolation. Our helpline became a beacon of hope, connecting those in urgent need with life-saving oxygen. Our volunteers worked beyond miles ensuring safe delivery, and even providing basic guidance on usage. It was a race against time, but the sheer determination of our team, bolstered by the generous support of donors, allowed us to provide critical respiratory aid to many who desperately needed it. We collaborated with local authorities and other relief organizations to streamline efforts and maximize our reach, embodying the spirit of community solidarity in the face of adversity.
